Most of us only eat turkey once a year. And considering how great it tastes and how versatile it is, that is a real shame.
Turkey is available year ’round – just not as the full fresh (or frozen) large bird in the cold section of your local supermarket.
Turkey mince, turkey breast, and turkey legs are available each and every day.
One serving of lean turkey breast equates to half our recommended daily intake of protein. But not only that, turkey is loaded with the sleep-inducing amino acid tryptophan. Tryptophan helps to reset our internal clock. So, if you suffer from insomnia, add some turkey to your dinner menu.

Below are two of our family favourite turkey recipes.
Makes 8 large patties
- 500g turkey mince
- 1 egg
- Oil to cook
- Onion powder
- Garlic Powder
- Pink himalayan salt
- Italian herbs
- In a large mixing bowl combine turkey mince and spices,
- Once combined add in the egg and mix,
- Once mixed line a large plate with baking paper, & form mixture into 8 large patties placing on the plate.
- Heat a non stick pan on medium heat & oil.
- Place patties on pan with enough room to flip and cook.
- Once golden brown & browning flip patties and brown on other side. (You will know if they are cooked the center should be brown)
- Once cooked Remove from pan and continue process with remaining patties.
- Sprinkle with salt, Serve & enjoy 😊.
- If you want to pre make the pattie mixture store on the plate with glad wrap over them or in an airtight container & refrigerate then just remove from fridge and follow recipe when cooking.
- You can make this recipe vegetarian by using textured vegetable protein to replace the turkey.
- You can make this recipe vegan by using a flax egg and textured vegetable protein.
Meat Sauce Serves 5
- 500g Steggles turkey mince
- 500ml Passata
- 1tsp Vegeta vegetable stock
- 1tsp Masterfoods Italian herbs
- 1tsp Garlic powder
- 1tsp Onion powder
- Pink Himalayan salt
For serving ~
- 500g Gluten free pasta of choice. (I used Aldi’s Has no gluten spaghetti)
- Nutritional yeast
- In a large pot cook pasta as per packet instructions, then drain and rinse.
- In a large pot add a little water and turkey mince then cook until brown,
- One meat is brown turn down the stove to low heat, add in passata and stir to combine.
- Once combined add in Vegetable Stock, herbs, Garlic & Onion then stir till combined.
- Stir in salt to taste then remove from heat.
- In serving bowls add pasta then spoon on sauce.
- Add 1 tsp of nutritional yeast and a sprinkle of pink himalayan salt to top of each bowl then serve.
•If pasta has gone cold heat pasta in the microwave then spoon meat on top and follow recipe.
•Regular Salt works too.
•Can use desired amount of Pasta but Meat sauce serves 5.
•Sauce Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
•Pasta leftovers can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
