A Little Bit of History…
The earliest record of herbal tea dates back to the third century AD. These herbal teas spread from Ancient Egypt and Ancient China to Japan and Europe before the rest of the world.
What is Herbal Tea?
Put simply, herbal tea is an infusion of any edible plant – this can include leaves, roots, seeds, flowers, spices, fruit, and tree bark.
Traditional tea comes from the Camellia Sinensis – the tea plant.
Purists argue herbal tea is not actually a ‘tea’ as it does not contain Camellia Sinensis.
